Cookie L♥ve

Filed under: Cookies - sugarina @ 7:13 pm

I’m going to get my hands on and jammed up in cookie dough! Can’t wait. I just bought a new recipe book ENTIRELY ON COOKIES!!! emoticon

Sorry for the lack of updates. I’ve been on a hiatus this whole week cause I have many errands to run and…erm…. have been bumming in bed and watching lots of telly and korean drama dvd…emoticon  So hopefully I’ll get my hands on making cookies on Tuesday before I leave for Hong Kong on Friday! Very excited to sink my teeth into shiny glazed KRISPY KREMES tooooo v^_^v Missed them since my last London Krispy sugar overload…….

…..

Whooopeeedoooo! It’s been too long since I last stepped into the kitchen. Daddykins prepared steamboat dinner today and it was fantastic. The soup my family prepares is always tasty and salt-MSG-free, with all natural ingredients (pork ribs, chicken bones, herbs and etc) and I had a good full dinna…with abalone, sea cucumber, roasted goose (which I ta bao-ed back from Imperial and had a bloated lunch) and THE UBER SWEET FLOWER CRAB that my Dad hand picked from the wet market! It really tasted very good. Which reminds me, I’m going to Long Beach for my Lobster feast SOON! Long due! emoticon I really live to eat heh.

p/s: Think I will put up a tagboard….been meaning to put one but the html is going to kill me cause blogsome isn’t like blogspot. Ggggrrrr

Presenting… My 2nd Batch of Cupcakes..

Filed under: Cupcakes - sugarina @ 5:17 pm

Candylicious Sugarina Pink Cupcakes! emoticon

Turned out pretty well, except that while my cupcakes were baking in the oven… due to my impatient nature, I sneaked upstairs to enjoy some chilled air in my air conditioned room. The weather has been a killer! emoticon

When my cupcakes were ready… the color of the cupcakes was a tad too dark. I got a shock emoticon Too caramelized I guess. The heat’s too much. Realllll hottttt. Because I forgot to lower the temperature to 160 degrees! *roars* It would’ve been perfect….

Oh! And I almost forgot to tell you about the icing. It went crazy on me. The icing sugar was a total disaster. It was so difficult to sieve, especially when the icing sugar kept forming into clumps and it was tedious when I used the cup sieve. So here’s a piece of advice, change to the traditional sieve while sieving icing sugar. It’s alot easier, use a metal spoon to press the sugar against the sieve too. Sugar goes through the holes in the sieve easier that way.

This is soooo sinful. You have no idea how much butter and sugar I used for these cupcakes (batter+cream glazing) and I already reduced the sugar and butter! Oh wellll…… Life’s too short… You gotta enjoy the food you love while you can! emoticon

Without sprinkles…

Cutesy rainbow sprinkles on pink sugary sweet rich cream cupcakes!

I made a separate set of cupcakes for my family because they don’t really have sweet tooth like yours truly here so I added raisins and abit more vanilla essence into the batter. Turned the little petite cupcakes into muffins! emoticon

On a random note… I snapped a photo of my backyard while getting restless in the kitchen…. My maid was boiling soup in the ancient way….I thought it was pretty cute. Heh

.

Tata for now! I’m gonna grab a cupcake for supper ♥

A bientot, mon chéri !

1st post @ my new baking diary

Filed under: Cupcakes - sugarina @ 4:50 pm

My 1st attempt using my brand new oven (Believe me, I never had an oven at home in my life! I don’t think it’s much of a surprise I’m obviously not the only one xP)  and I must tell you, I am really proud of moiself!

Slice of me baking life! emoticon

Here’s my debut

 Chocolate Orange Cupcakes

Description of the Chocolate Orange Cupcakes

Chocolate Chips & Orange bits fluffy cupcakes with Dark Chocolate Glaze (has orange flavor as I added the essence and cream as well) I made 16 so 8 had rainbow sprinkles and the other 8 had orange fruit pieces (cut in pineapple slices).

YUMMY!!! emoticon

Reviewed by:

  1. My maid duh because she helped me with the manual mixing of the batter (long history behind why I didn’t get an electric mixer omg almost died)
  2. Mommy was speechless (pride reasons haha) and said I should be making cupcakes in the future with no excuses like buying or hiring a patissier……..hmmm…so much faith in her daughter…
  3. 3 outsiders - My regular salesguy at On Pedder (he laughed at me! how dare him! he didn’t believe I was gonna bake! so I had to show him my success! HA!), old time buddy Benson whom I met for my favorite Crystal Jade La Mian dinner (before dinner he ate my whole cupcake and gave me a nod!) and my friend Delwyn (who said my cupcake is better than his….definitely hehhhh xD)

So pleasssseeeeddd!

I’m gonna make Sugarina Pink cupcakes next! If they succeed, they’re gonna be my signature cupcakes…. yummmms*emoticon

ps: I’m going to take photos using my Lumix this time. My trusty camera died on me when I was about to snap them…….
